Halloween Parties
Is it permissible to attend a Halloween costume party?
Answer: Virtually all Halloween traditions are based either in an ancient pagan culture, or Christianity. From an Islamic point of view, they all are forms of idolatry (shirk). As Muslims, our celebrations should be ones that honour and uphold our faith and beliefs. How can we worship only Allah, the Creator, if we participate in activities that are based in pagan rituals, divination, and the spirit world?
Celebrating Halloween in any form is impermissible and against the teachings of Islam.
Rasulullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said,
“The one who imitates any people is amongst them.” [Abu Dawood]
The famous Sahabah, Abdullah ibn Amr
“Whoever resides in the lands of the non-Arabs and then celebrates their religious occasions (such as Nairuz and Mihrajan – Persian holidays) and emulates their practices and thereafter dies in such a condition, shall be raised with them on the Day of Judgement.” Sunnan Kubra

Sleeping After Fajr
What is the ruling with regards to sleeping after Fajr Salaah before sunrise?
Answer -
It is a Sunnah to stay awake after the Fajr Salaah engaging in the Thikar of Allah until the sun has risen, and to then pray 2 or 4 Rakaats of Salatul Ishraq.
The time for performing Salah Ishraq commences approximately twenty minutes after sunrise when the sun is above the horizon approximately to the length of a spear
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “That I sit in the company of the people who remember Allah the Exalted from Fajr Salaah till the sun rises is dearer to me than that I emancipate four slaves from the children of Ismaeel. [Abu Dawud Book 26, Hadith 27]
Imam Tirmidhi (رضي الله عنه) narrates:
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “Whoever performs Fajr in congregation, then sits remembering Allah until the sun has risen, then he performs two rak’ah, then for him is the reward like that of a Hajj and Umrah.” [Tirmidhi] The same reward will apply for a lady performing Salaah in her home.
We are able to gauge from these narrations that Nabi (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) would not sleep after Fajr Salaat, but would remain in the Dhikr of Allah, the tilaawat of the Quraan, etc. until Ishraaq, Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam would perform Ishraq Salaah after which he would engage in other chores. After Zawaal, Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam would have a siesta.
It is makrooh (disliked) for one to sleep after Fajr till sunrise unless one has an excuse. Furthermore, it is not makrooh for one to sleep after sunrise.

Is it permissible for men to wear red clothing?
Is it permissible for men to wear red clothing?
Answer: It is Makrooh Tanzeehi (disliked) for men to wear plain red garments. This would include a red Kurta, T-shirt, soccer T-shirt or red tracksuit pants etc.
Added to that, if a garment has been dyed with safflower (red colour) or saffron (yellow/orange colour), then it will not be permissible for a male to wear it. This prohibition is with regards to dying with safflower and saffron.
Furthermore, with regards to wearing red head gear like a Topi, Turban or cap or footgear, like socks, sandals, takkies or soccer boots - there is no problem with that. Similarly, if the garment is not plain red and has patterns of other colours as well, then wearing it is also permissible.
