Question: Does a sick person have to fast?
Answer: A sick person will be exempted from fasting if there is a genuine fear that the current sickness will get worse or that fasting will delay recovery.
The sick person will have to make a Qadha fast for the missed day.
Using A Drip While Fasting
Question: Does the use of a drip break the fast?
Answer: The usage of drip does not invalidate the fast, as the content of the drip does not enter the stomach or brain.
Swallowing A Particle of Food While Fasting
Question: Does swallowing a particle of food that was stuck between the teeth, break the fast?
Answer: If particle of food that was stuck between the teeth, was smaller than the size of a gram seed - then the fast will not break.
Gum Bleed While Fasting
Does bleeding gums break the fast?
Answer: If no blood does goes down the throat, the fast will not break. Similarly, if the blood is less than the saliva, the fast will not break.
However, if the blood that goes down the throat is equal or more than the saliva, or one could taste it, then the fast will break. In this case, one Qadha will be necessary.
