Combating Whispers of Shytan
DAILY FIQH
Question: What can I read to combat doubts and whispers of Shytan?
Answer: Sayyidna Ibn Abbas R.A. said that if Shytan casts an evil scruple in anyone’s heart, twhich causes scepticism about Allah and the religion of truth, he should softly recite the following verse:
هُوَ الْأَوَّلُ وَالْآخِرُ وَالظَّاهِرُ وَالْبَاطِنُ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ
“He is the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden and He is All-Knowing.” {Surah Al Hadid Verse 3} Mariful Quraan Vol 8: Page 305

Fidya For Missed Fast
DAILY FIQH
Question: Do I have to pay Fidya for the fast I missed in Ramadan due to illness?
Answer: It will be necessary for you to make up (Qadhaa) for the missed fast. If you cannot observe it immediately, you should observe it when your health improves. In this instance, there is no need to pay Fidya (monetary compensation)
However if you are experiencing such an illness due to which you are unable to ever fast i.e. the sickness is permanent and there is no hope of recovery, then you will be excused from observing the make up fast. You will pay Fidya for every missed fast.
The value of this Fidya for each fast is the same as Sadaqatul fitr, which is the value of 1.6 kg of wheat or 3.2 kg of barley. The present average value in South Africa is R22. (June 2017)

Using Fresh Water For Masah On Khuffain
DAILY FIQH
Question: Is it necessary to wet the hands afresh for the Masah (passing a wet hand) on the Khuffain (leather socks)?
Answer: After making Masah of the head, it is necessary to wet the hands again to make Masah of the Khuffain. It is not permissible to use the remaining wetness on one's hands from the Masah of the head for the Masah on the Khuffain.
The reasoning behind this ruling is that - the remaining water on one's hands after making Masah of the head is deemed as Musta'mal (used water) and it is not permissible to utilize 'used water' to cleanse a limb during Wudhu.

Lady's Exposed In Salaah
DAILY FIQH
Question: A child pulled his mother's Burqa in Salaah, does this break the Salaah?
Answer: In Salaah, a lady is required to cover her whole body except the hands, feet, and the face.
Keeping that in mind, if when the child pulled the Burqa, only a few strands of hair became exposed, the validity of the Salaah will not affected.
If quarter of the lady's head or the hair that hangs from her head became exposed, for less than the duration of three Tasbeehs and she quickly covered it up, Salaah will be valid.
However, if the exposure continued up to the duration of three Tasbeehs, then Salaah will become invalid.
