Question: Is there any problem with cracking the knuckles?
Answer: It is reported in a Hadith:
عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَا تُفَقِّعْ أَصَابِعَكَ وَأَنْتَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ - سنن ابن ماجه
Ali Radiyallahu Anhu reports that the Messenger Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said: “Do not crack your knuckles whilst in Salaah.”
ويكره ان يشبك اصابعه وان يفرقع كذا فى فتاوى قاضى خان والفرقعة ان يغمزها او يمدها حتى تصوت كذا فى النهاية الفرقعة خارج الصلاة كرهها كثير من الناس كذا فى الزاهدى عالمكيرى ج 1 ص 106
The Jurist have ruled that one should abstain from cracking the knuckles in Salaah and in general.
