Question: What defects disqualify animals from being slaughtered from Qurbani?
Answer: Animals chosen for Qurbani should be healthy, free from faults and defects. Here below is a general list of SOME of the defects:
- An animal blind in one or both eyes.
- An animal without ears from birth or one third or more of the ear is missing.
- An animal with one third or more of the tail missing.
- A lame animal which walks with only three legs, the fourth being totally useless.
- An animal without teeth or which has lost most of its teeth.
- An Animal whose horn has been broken off from the root. However, an animal born without horns or if the horn is broken off -not from the root - it will be suitable for Qurbani.
P.S. The above is not an exhaustive list.
