Question: What is status of fasting on the 15th of Sha'baan?

Answer: It is Mustahab (recommended) to fast on the 15th of Sha'baan.

Sayyidina Ali Radiyallahu Anhu reports that The Messenger Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said:
اذا كانت ليلة النصف من شعبان, فقوموا ليلها و صوموا نهارها.
Trans: "When the middle night of Shabaan arrives, you should stand (praying) in the night and should fast in the day following it."

This Hadith is recorded by Ibn Majah in his Sunan, and also by Baihaqi in Shu’ab ul Imaan

Saturday evening the 21st of May 2016 will be Laylatul Baraa'ah (15th Sha'baan) and those intending to fast, should do so on Sunday the 22nd of May 2016.

Question. After brushing my teeth, I often find blood in my saliva. Would this invalidate my wudu?

Answer: If the blood predominates or is equal to your saliva; your Wudu will be nullified. This is usually when the saliva is red in colour. However, if the saliva is whitish, yellowish or just slightly red, the Wudhu will not be broken.


وينقصه دم غلب على بزاق حكما للغالب او ساواه ولا ينقضه المغلوب بالبزاق (الشامي ج1ص139)

Question: What jewellery items are men allowed to wear?

Answer: It is not permissible for men to wear any type of jewellery accept a ring. The ring should be made from silver and have less than 4.374 grams of silver. {Raddul Muhtâr V6 P360 }

Question:  What is the status of performing forty Salahs  in Masjidun Nabawi (Sallallahu Alahi Wasallam)?

Answer: it is Sunnah to perform 40 Salahs in Masjidun Nabawi. (Fatawa  Mahmudiyya  vol.3 pg.186) The Messenger (Sallallahu Alahi Wasallam) said:

مَنْ صَلَّى فِي مَسْجِدِي أَرْبَعِينَ صَلاةً لا يَفُوتُهُ صَلاةٌ كُتِبَتْ لَهُ بَرَاءَةٌ مِنْ النَّارِ ، وَنَجَاةٌ مِنْ الْعَذَابِ ، وَبَرِئَ مِنْ النِّفَاقِ

(احمد، والطبراني، جمع الفوائد)

 “Whoever performs 40 salawât consecutively in my Masjid will be exempted from the fire, its punishments and from hypocrisy.” (Jam’ul Fawâid)
