Leasing of Property to a Liquor Store
Question: Can a land lord lease a commercial property to person who clearly indicates that he will sell liquor or pork on the premises?
Answer: It is not permissible for a Muslim to let out his/her property to someone who will conduct Haraam business. Selling liquor or pork are both Haraam. Hence, it will not be permissible to hire out a property to someone who intends to sell liquor or pork.
In the Noble Quraan, Allah Ta'ala says:
{وَتَعَاوَنُواْ عَلَى الْبرِّ وَالتَّقْوَى وَلاَ تَعَاوَنُواْ عَلَى الإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ}
"Assist one another in matters of righteousness and piety and do not assist each in sin and transgression."

Lifting the Feet off the Ground in Sajdah
Question: If a Musalli (a person performing Salaah) lifts his feet off the ground while in Sajdah – will his Salaah break?
Answer: A Musalli should keep his feet on the ground during the entire Sajdah. If a Musaali lifts his feet off the ground for the duration of a Rukan of Salaah (the duration in which ‘Subhanallah’ can be recited 3 times) –the Salaah will break.
However, if a person lifts his feet off the ground – for less than the duration of a Rukan – Salaah will not break, but, this action is nevertheless Makrooh (reprehensible). [Fathul Qadir 1:212]
