Question: Why are we required to clean our plates after eating?
Answer: Sayyiduna Jabir RA. narrates that Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam commanded that the fingers should be licked and the utensil should be cleaned [i.e. before washing it]. Expounding the benefit of this, Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, "As it is unknown which particle of food contains the Barakah (blessings)." [Targhib Vol 3, Page 146]
Sayyiduna Nubaysha RA. narrates that Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: " If a person eats from a plate and cleans it, the plate will supplicate to Allah Ta'ala for his forgiveness." [Sunan Ibn Majah Vol 2: Page 235]

Dua When Visiting The Market Place

Question: What Dua should when visiting the market place?
Answer: Sayyiduna Umar RA. narrates that by reading the following Dua in a shopping center, a million rewards are recorded for a person, a million sins washed away and a million stages raised in paradise:
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، يُحيي ويُميتُ، بيَدِه الخيْرُ وهو على كلِّ شيْءٍ قدير
Translation: There is no diety except Allah, He is one and has no partner; to Him belongs the kingdom for Him is all praise; He grants life and death; He is alive and will never perish, and He has power over everything. - Tirmizi Vol2 Page 181

What To Do When Do Not Know The Direction of The Qiblah

Question: What should one do if you do not know in which direction is the Qiblah?
Answer: If a person is at a place where he does not know in which direction the Qiblah is, nor is there anyone whom he could ask, then he should think in his heart. Whichever direction his heart inclines him to face, he should face that direction [Behishti Zewar Page 147]

Applying Oil To The Hair

Question: Is it Sunnah to apply oil on the hair and is there a recommend method to follow?
Answer: Yes, it is Sunnah to apply oil on the hair. Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik RA. narrates that Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam frequently applied oil on his head. - Shama'il Page 4
Method
* When applying oil, begin by saying “Bismillah”.
* Take some oil in the palm of your left hand.
* Apply a little on the right eyebrow then the left.
* Now apply oil on the head starting from the front right side and then the remaining part of the head.
* Thereafter, apply to the beard, starting with the hair closest to the neck and work your way up.
