Measuring The Distance For A Musaffir
DAILY FIQH
Question: At which point does a person start to measure the distance to be a Musaafir?
Answer: For one to be regarded as a Musaafir, the distance from the exit boundary of one’s hometown to the entry boundary of the intended destination will be taken into consideration.
One will only be classified as a Musaafir if the distance between the two boundaries amounts to 78 km or more. (The extra mileage travelled within the borders of the hometown and the destination town will not be added on) [Ref: Fatawaa Mahmudiyya, Vol. 20, Pg. 312)]

Dead Sea Creams
Question: Is it permissible to use Dead Sea skin creams etc.?
Answer: The Dead Sea covers the ruins of the people of Lut Alaihi Salaam, who were destroyed by a Divine Punishment. With regards to places of punishment, a Hadith states:
"The Messenger Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam instructed the Sahaba Radiyallah Anhu to hasten, while passing through Hijr, the land of Thamood. They were told to cover their faces and to be in the state of fear; lest they become victims of the punishment that was inflicted on the Thamood." (Bukhari)
In another narration it is stated: “The Sahaba Radiyallahu Anhu drew water from wells and started kneading dough. Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam instructed them to pour out the water and feed the dough to the camels.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
From this Hadith we understand that, one should not unnecessarily to go places of punishment nor should one benefit from the things found there. Hence, it is not permissible to use anything made from the Dead Sea.

Lady's Salaah by Her Parents' House
Question: Will a married lady, living with her husband, read Qasr Salaah (shortened Salaah due to travel) when she visits her parents ?
Answer: If a married lady intends to visit her parents, for less than fifteen days, and her parents live in a town that is 78 kilometers (or more), away from her town of residence with her husband; then yes, she will make Qasr Salaah, by her parents' home.
The reason for this is: when a lady begins to stay with her husband, the town where she is residing with husband, becomes her new 'hometown'. Her parents' town of residence will no longer be her hometown. (Fatawaa Mahmudiyya Vol 7: Page 501)

Durood Tunjina
Question: Is it permissible to read Durood-e-Tunjina?
Answer: Yes, it is permissible to read this Dua, in fact it is highly recommendable to read this Dua at a time when experiencing difficulty. It was the habit of one of our pious predecessors to recite this Dua, and he would also encourage others to recite it. {Maktubaat}.
Furthermore, we found reference for this Dua in a book, Saadatur Darain Fes Salaat Ala Sayyidul Konain by Yusuf bin Ismaeel An-Nibhale (Page 240)
However, it should be clarified that according to our research there is no origin of this Dua in the Ahadeeth of Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam. Nevertheless, this Dua can be read and has great benefit.
The Durrod is as follows:
"O Allah! Shower blessings on Muhammad, our Master, and his Family such blessings by means of which;
You relieve us of all anxieties and calamities;
You satisfy all our needs;
You cleanse us of all evils;
You grant us high positions and ranks by You;
You lead us to the utmost limit of our aspirations and capacities in whatever is best in this world and the Hereafter;
For indeed You have full Power over everything.”
