Question: Is it necessary to remove rings, bangles, bracelets, etc when making Wudhu?
Answer: If the rings, bangles, bracelets, etc so tight that there is a possibility that water will not reach under them, then it will be Wajib (necessary) to remove them. However, if they are so loose that water will reach without removing them, it will no longer be necessary, but only preferable to remove them.

Maximum Period Of Breast-feeding A Child

Question: Till what age is a mother allowed to breast-feed her child?
Answer: The maximum period of breast-feeding is two years. It is Haram to breastfeed a child beyond two years.
In the Noble Quraan Allah Ta’ala says: “And the mothers are to suckle their infants for two years, for those who wish to complete the suckling” [Surah Baqarah 2:233]

Calculating Zakaat

Question: How do I calculate how much Zakat I need to pay?
Answer: Zakat is compulsory on a person who possess Nisab. At present the Nisab of Zakat is approximately R4911.12 (612.36 grams of Silver). The person who possesses this amount of cash/assets for a complete year, will give 1/40th of his wealth as Zakat. That is, two and a half percent - R2,50 for every R100. [Bahishti Zewar Page 336]

Etiquette Of Drinking Zamzam

Question: Please explain the etiquette of drinking Zamzam water?
Answer: It is recommended that one drinks Zamzam in three sips, like with any other beverage, and when done, to praise Allah.
It may be drunk standing or sitting. Standing is preferred when the Ka'bah Sharif is in view. Also, a short Du'aa could be made before drinking Zam zam.
