Questions: When slaughtering the Qurbani animal - how many vessels in throat need to be severed?

Answer: In an Islāmic slaughter (dhabh), one cuts the trachea (windpipe), oesophagus (food-pipe), and the two jugular veins. If only 3 are cut, the animal will still be rendered Halaal. However, If only two vessels in the throat were cut, the animal will be Haram.

The animal should not be slaughtered with such force that its head is severed, or the knife reaches the spinal cord.

After slaughtering, the head should not be cut off nor should the animal be skinned until all movement has completely stopped.
