Question: What is the status of using a Miswaak during Wudhu?

Answer: It is Sunnah Muakkadah (Emphasized Sunnah) to use the Miswaak during Wudhu. If a person forgets to use the Miswaak at time of Wudhu, then it is recommended to use it before performing Salaah.
السواك سنة مؤكدة عند المضمضة ، وقيل قبلها ، وهو للوضؤء عندنا ، الا اذا نسيه فيندب للصلاة ( الدر المختار ج1 ص 113)
